WWU Libraries expands course reserve services

Electronic Course Reserve is one of new options available in addition to print and media reserve! Electronic reserves allow students to access required readings 24 hours a day.

New Features:

  • You can now submit citations for use in e-reserves through a link in the Find it! window.
  • On-line course reserve form now available
  • Article retrieval and scanning provided
  • Expanded access to on-line resources including links to articles in full text databases
Guidelines for print and electronic reserves:

  • Limit articles to required readings only, maximum of 30.
  • Allowable materials include copies of articles and chapters that meet fair use guidelines, instructor created materials and links to articles in full text databases and web sites. A whole work such as a book, journal, DVD, or CD may be placed on reserve, but not on e-reserve.
  • Worksheets are processed as received. Allow a number of days for processing, especially at the beginning of the quarter.
  • All items will be removed from Course Reserve at the end of the quarter unless otherwise noted.
    • Requests to extend a list beyond the quarter indicated on the original worksheet or electronic form must be given at least two weeks before the end of the quarter.
    • All items subject to fair use will be removed at the end of the quarter. Links to ProQuest, JSTOR, or MCB articles are not subject to fair use and may remain as links for multiple quarters
  • A complete and accurate citation is required for every item requested for Electronic Reserves.
To place items on Course Reserve:

  • Complete an on-line request form
  • Submit items for your list using the "Submit citation.." link in the find it! window.
  • Bring personal copies of materials to Circulation Services. We will retrieve library materials from the stacks.
