No call number. Large bank of stand-alone cabinets in the northwest corner
of Wilson 2 West.
- WHAT: Established in 1966 the Educational Resources
Information Center (ERIC) is a national information system designed to provide
ready access to an extensive body of education-related literature. The
Library's collection contains most documents bearing an ED number (see below).
Some lengthy ERIC documents can encompass several fiche. In these cases
the notation "1 of 6", etc., will appear on the fiche cards. In some instances very long documents
will only have
publication, availability and ordering information noted on the ERIC fiche.
Even though the citation has an ED number the actual document
will need to be purchased or pursued by the user by contacting the supplier indicated or
by making an interlibrary loan request.
- FORMAT & SCOPE: Microfiche. ED 000-001 - onward.
- ORGANIZATION: ERIC documents are filed numerically by the ED
number. Note that the collection does not
contain documents and articles cited with EJ numbers.
Materials cited using EJ numbers may be held in the library's collections.
Consult the online catalog. Those not owned will need to be pursued using
interlibrary loan or other document delivery resources.
- INDEX: ERIC documents are cited in both online and print
resources. The ED number associated with each citation is used to locate
the document in the extensive ERIC files. The easiest resource for searching the ERIC collection
are the two
online database available through the library's web pages. Choose
