- WHAT: Commonly referred to as the Oregon PE Collection this
set of materials contains theses, dissertations and specialized publications
relating to the general subject areas of physical education, health and
recreation. Subject examples include: kinesiology, motor skills,
dancing, movement, muscle, exercise, health, assessment, sport injuries,
smoking, sport psychology, sport history. Some related journals and serials are also included in the
collection.
- FORMAT & SCOPE: Microfiche, 1972 - onward.
- ORGANIZATION: All documents are cataloged under the above
call number, though other call numbers may appear on the fiche cards
themselves. The internal organization of the collection is alphabetical
with thesis, dissertations and other papers filed by the author's last name and
journals, serials, etc. interfiled as appropriate for their titles. The
author names appear in the fiche header.
- INDEX: Paper indexes and updates are shelved by call
number (GV341 H38 Bulletin) in the Microform Index area along the south windows on Wilson 2 West.
A significant portion of the items in this collection appear as unique items
in the library's online catalog, though more recent additions have not yet
been added. The phrase "University of Oregon, College of Health,
Physical Education and Recreation," appearing in the catalog record is a
clue that the item is part of the Oregon PE Collection.
