Requesting Materials that are currently checked-out

Requests can be made for items that are currently checked out. If an item is checked out, a request button will appear near the top of the catalog record. Click on the request button and follow instructions for completing the request. An email will be sent when the item has been returned and is available.

Things to remember:

  • Requests can only be made for materials currently checked-out
  • The request button only appears when an item is checked-out
  • If status has a due date this means it is currently checked-out and it can be requested
  • status
  • A faster option might be to request item through Summit
  • If status says AVAILABLE you can't request it

Which items can't be requested?

  • Reference Books
  • Journals
  • Special Collections materials
  • Anything not currently checked out
