Wilson 2 East, A/V Collection
The WWU Libraries collects a variety of audio recordings.
Wilson Library has a small but growing collection of music CDs which may be checked out for a seven day period. A selected collection is featured on the Media Circulation counter with the balance of the music found in Wilson 2 East.
The audio cassette and CD collections contains a wide variety of lectures, literature and audio documentaries ranging from Pacifica Radio broadcasts to more recent audio-books. Audio materials, both CDs and audiocassettes, circulate for 21 days or can be played at the library's listening stations, which are located nearby. Headphones and headphone jacks for using your personal headphones are available at the Media Circulation desk.
The Libraries also offers an LP collection containing a many recordings from the esteemed Caedmon label which are no longer available. The collection offers the opportunity to hear such great authors as Dylan Thomas, Carl Sandburg, and others reading their own works. Additionally there are recorded theatrical productions from Shakespeare to Eugene O'Neil performed/spoken by some of the great actors of the 20th century. The LP collection also contains a number of LPs from the transcription service of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. If you are interested in checking out materials from the LP collection they can be paged from closed stacks at your request.
