| Welcome to the Catalog Department web site. One of the oldest departments in Wilson Library, Cataloging was formed in 1917 with the advent of Gladys Stephens, the first cataloger (not counting Mabel Zoe Wilson). Located in the Haggard Wing, we have a long history of creative service
(278.5 years of collective cataloging experience as of 2004) to Western Washington University,
giving us a trust and confidence in ourselves and each other that
enables us to willingly extend our expertise and aid to others. Adhering to national standards, we have been processing everything from books to computer files for over eighty years, striving to provide easy access for our clientele. |
