Bellingham's Vintage Houses by Harry Moreau
The paintings in this series were inspired by the historical vintage homes that make up the downtown neighborhoods of Bellingham, perhaps some of them you will recognize. Harry incorporates his special effects training in the representation of rain, wind, lightning and other forces of nature.
The paintings are digitally created which means they are drawn and painted in the computer, using a stylus and creating layer upon layer to achieve the desired result.
The technique is much the same as you would use to draw and paint by hand on paper.
Harry Moreau began his career inthe L.A. Motion Picture Industry as a Special Effects Animator and Supervisor. His resume contains over fifty films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and the Manchurian Candidate.
He studied animation at UCLA and received on the job training at Hollywood's famed Haboush Company before spending fourteen years as head of the Animated Special Effects Dept. at Apogee Inc., the Academy Award-winning studio of John Dysktra.
Sensing the decline of the Motion Picture Industry in L.A., Harry moved to Bellingham in 2002 and in 2006 started his own company, Sound Images, which specializes in printing high quality Giclee Prints, such as those you see here.
