About the BOQ

About the BOQ Book Criteria Suggest A Book BOQ Books Links Home

This function was Initiated by William H.O. Scott of Wilson Library in Fall of 1962. The working idea of the current BOQ group is to select a 'theme' from which to select books for the year. Then, each book selected will offer a different perspective or representation of that theme.

Core members of the BOQ:

Miguel Ramos - Interlibrary Loan staff

Miguel was born in east L.A. Live in Bellingham. He likes dark chocolate and dark beer and walks in the dark. He is happily married and happily a father. He writes SF and horror and reads everything except romances and cereal boxes. He hopes to live happily ever after.

Paul Piper - Librarian for Journalism, Political Science, Health Interdisciplinary, Geology, Creative Writing, and Biology.

Once upon a time Paul was a librarian, writer and father of a very active teenager. He was born in Chicago in 1951, lived in Montana, Hawaii and has lived in Bellingham for 4 years. He also walks in the dark and once bumped into Miguel. They had a dark beer together and ate dark chocolate. Then Paul turned on a light, and Miguel disappeared. He hasn't seen Miguel since, but was relieved to see he lives on this web page.

Chad Albans - Library Computer Support Staff

Chad was born and raised in Bellingham, and after a stint in the USAF he returned to the area.  He likes to write a little prose and plans someday to write the many stories at work in his brain. He likes light chocolate, light beer and walks in the light.
