Exporting and Manipulating Data


  1. Create the list using the Create Lists function

  2. Use the U > Output USER-selected format

  3. Choose C > CREATE a new file for output

  4. Choose the following fields (use this exact order or modify the program accordingly):

    • [12] Fund (Order record)
    • [!245] Title (from bib record)
    • [22] Vendor (Order record)
    • [/0] Paid (Order record)
    • [07] Code2 (Order record)
    • [15] Ord Type (Order record)
    • [!856] url (Bibliographic record)

  5. Hit Enter

  6. Choose Field Delimiter 1) ASCII character (2) ^

  7. Text Qualifier (NONE)

  8. Repeat Field Delimiter 3) ASCII character (2) ~

  9. Choose C > Create new file

  10. Give it a name.. once it is created, choose to output the file now

    NOTE: If you use the same filename you can just continue to overwrite the file, preventing you from having to go back and delete the files in the future.

  11. Choose or enter the name of a server on which you have ftp priviledges

  12. Your filename should appear in your account with PUT to the left side of it

  13. Choose T > TRANSFER files and [ENTER] to accept the output name

  14. Transfer your file from your ftp server to your PC (unless you chose to configure your PC as an ftp server)

  15. Use the Pdconvert program to convert the file

  16. Open the file in excel, using ^ as the delimiter
