Locating Articles: Indexes to Periodicals
- AGRICOLA (AGRICultural OnLine Access)
Dates covered: 1970-current
A bibliographic database of citations to agricultural literature created by the National Agricultural Library. Encompasses all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, agricultural economics, extension and education, food and human nutrition, and earth and environmental sciences. The AGRICOLA database is organized into two bibliographic data sets, which must be searched separately. Both data sets are updated daily with newly cataloged and indexed materials. Online Public Access Catalog, contains citations to books, audiovisual materials, serial publications, and other materials in the NAL collection. AGRICOLA also contains bibliographic records for items cataloged by other libraries and not held in NAL's collection. Journal Article Citation Index, includes citations, many with abstracts, to journal articles (see List of Journals Indexed), book chapters, reports, and reprints.

This interdisciplinary database offers abstracts and citations to a wide range of research in biomedicine, biotechnology, zoology and ecology, and some aspects of agriculture and veterinary science.
- Environmental Universe
Includes Environment Abstracts (1970-current ), which indexes more than 1,000 journals, plus government publications and conference papers. Many of the pre-2004 indexed publications can be found full-text in the Envirofiche collection, in Wilson Library 2West. Other databases, all full-text, include Environmental News (1975-current), Environmental Law Reviews (1981-current), etc. Site License. [Resource no longer available]

The NPSBC Native Plant Society of British Columbia is an organization bringing together people from throughout the province who enjoy, study and work with native plants and habitats. The Society was founded in 1997 and has almost three hundred members with a collective interest in education and communication about native plants and a commitment to their ethical use and conservation.
- David Douglas Botanical Garden Society
The David Douglas Botanical Garden Society was incorportated in 1991. Its mission is, in partnership with the University of Northern British Columbia, to establish and maintain an aesthetically pleasing botanical garden for the enhancement of public education, the improvement of scientific knowledge and the promotion of plant material that is viable within the region served by the university.

- Rhododendron Species Foundation and Botanical Garden
The Rhododendron Species Foundation is a non-profit organization established to "secure the finest authentic forms of Rhododendron species and develop a comprehensive collection of this plant genus of over 850 species native to the temperate regions of North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as the tropical regions of southeast Asia and northern Australia. Conservation has become of primary importance in recent years with the destruction of Rhododendron habitat in many areas of the world."

"Dedicated to the protection of our native flora and habitat." This site includes membership information, reports on current activities, species lists, a native plant bibliography, information on gardening with natives and much more.
- Invaders Database
The INVADERS Database is a comprehensive database of exotic plant names, distribution records, and regulatory information for the northwestern United States. It was created for the "early detection and tracking of invasive alien plants and weedy natives." Searchable in four different ways: Query by Name (scientific, common, or INVADERS plant id); Query From List (of plant names); Query by Area (county or multi-county area); and Query from Map.
- Plants National Database
The PLANTS Database provides standardized information about the vascular plants, mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and lichens of the U.S. and its territories.
