Business Source Complete (EBSCO) Business Source Complete (BSC) contains articles from newspapers, magazines, academic journals and trade publications. It also contains company, industry, country and market reports. A general business database, BSC covers most business subjects and is a good place to start when doing business research.
Table Base International in scope, Table Base contains tabular information gleaned from over 900 trade and business publications. Over 20,000 tables are added to this database each year. Only the tables are indexed but a reference is given to the article. Six Consortium Libraries share 5 dataports. If you get an error message, try again later. Inc.com / Inc.com Each year Inc Magazine ranks a wide variety of companies. This includes the Inc500, the 100 street smart companies, the top 10 industries to grow a company, successful entrepreneurs, etc.
Northwest Top 100 This list ranks companies in the Pacific Northwest. They are ranked using a combination of four key performance indicators: return on equity (how well is the company turning investors' money into profit?), sales per employee (is the company losing efficiency as it gets bigger?), operating income (a better measure than net profit of the strength of the core business) and stock price appreciation (is the market rewarding success?).

The profiles include a summary of the current state of the industry, trends, a section on "how the industry operates", and analysis of companies within an industry. Individual surveys also contain an overview, financial analysis and projections, rankings of top companies, market share, and much more.
United States Securities and Exchange Commission / United States Securities and Exchange Commission Provides information on US publicly traded companies. Site also details regulatory information, including background on rulemaking and enforcement. Includes the EDGAR database and tips for investors in regard to the Internet. Note: SEC's EDGAR database requires all companies, foreign and domestic, to file registration statements, periodic reports, and other forms electronically through EDGAR. It has a delay on the release of filing data which ranges from 24-48 hours. The prospectus and proxy filings often contain information on market share and market size.
