Student Personnel Administration


The Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education program prepares professionals for work in student affairs. This includes the study of philosophy, theory, and practices in college student administration, including counseling, interviewing, and crisis intervention as well as courses delving into the philosophies and theories of Adult and Higher Education.   • ERIC - Cambridge Scientific Abstracts
    • Dates covered: 1966-current
    ERIC is the largest education database in the world providing indexing and abstracts of all types of materials including journal articles, government documents, books, dissertations, and unpublished materials such as curriculum guides, research reports and conference papers in education and related topics in the social sciences. Many ERIC documents published between 1993 and 2004 are now available online full text. Most ERIC documents published from 1966-1993 are available in the ERIC Microfiche collection on Wilson 2 West.   • Education Abstracts
    • Dates covered: 1983-current
    Education Abstracts, produced by the H.W. Wilson Company, is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals and yearbooks published in the United States and elsewhere. English-language books relating to education published in 1995 or later are indexed.
  • Higher Education Abstracts
    Location: Reference LB 2300 .C6
    • Dates covered: 1984-current
    Check Catalog
    Indexes and abstracts journal articles, book, papers, and reports covering higher education. Indexes some journals not covered by ERIC or Education Abstracts.
  • PsycINFO
    • Dates covered: 1840-current
    PsycINFO indexes and provides nonevaluative abstracts for scholarly, international literature in psychology and related disciplines such as sociology, education, consumer behavior, linguistics, medicine, law, psychiatry, and anthropology. Materials covered include articles from more than 1,300 journals, reports of surveys, bibliographies, books and book chapters, and dissertations. Dates covered: 1840 – present. Site License.
  • ProQuest
    ProQuest accesses databases covering a wide range of subject areas and disciplines using a common search interface. It is the library's premiere full-text database, indexing over 4,000 sources including scholarly journals, popular magazines and newspapers.
