WWU Students and Faculty may use Western Libraries Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery (ILLiad) service to borrow or get copies of items that are in the Western Library's collections. These materials can be shipped to you based on the delivery preferences you selected when you set up your Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery (ILLiad) account.
Then request the book using your Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery (ILLiad) account.
If a book from our collection happens to be in use, the Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery department will notify you that we have placed a hold on it. It will be shipped as soon as it becomes available. Or, you can request a copy of the book from another library using Summit.

To access your account to place a request. go to the Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery web site
Choose Login to your ILLiad account at the bottom of the page.
Placing a Request for a Book/Video

From the ILLiad main menu, choose the Book form. Use this form for Videos as well.

Enter the Title of the book or video (exactly as you see it).

Enter the Author/Editors of the book. If there is more than one author, enter the first 2-3 authors (first and last names)

Enter the Publisher.

Enter the Place of Publication.

Enter the Date of Publication.

Enter the Edition (if known).

If you have the ISBN number, please include it. (The ISBN is the International Standard Book Number. Sometimes it will be included in a citation.)

If you have a date after which you do not want the book anymore, enter the date. Please note that Interlibrary Loan cannot guarantee delivery of materials by a specific date.

If there is any information that may help Interlibrary Loan identify the material, please add this to the Notes.

When you have completed the form and filled in all the required fields (marked with an *), click on Submit Request.
