COMMUNITY IN BLOOM
Spring Art Show 2012
Gallery 2 Wilson Library
May 7 - June 1, 2012
This year's student led community based show features work from Ferndale High School students. The work was submitted by the following eight students: Angela Stringfield, Eli Owen, Galina Shulga, Brad Vario, Samantha Johnson, Jennifer Nestle, Alyssa Peterson, and Maleenia Huntley. They all worked within the mediums of photography and digital art. Some of the themes within their work is the cycle of life, and rebirth in Spring, the growth and blooming of plants and animals in Spring, as well as the focus on contrast and light.
Western's Art History 308 students wanted to create a show that allowed the local high school and middle school students the freedom and honor of displaying their work in a show that will be open and up for the entire community to view. We really wanted to encourage students to be involved and active in their community and to display their creativity as much as possible, while also allowing us to be involved in that process.
