MLK Day Read-In Celebration for
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

 

 The Center for Service-Learning will be hosting its annual MLK Day Read-In
at Village Books (1200 11th St) on Monday, January 21st from 12:30-2:30pm.

Local children are invited to gather at Village Books from 12:30-2:30pm on January 21st to hear stories from around the world about tolerance, the civil rights movement, and  diversity in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Western Washington University’s Center for Service-Learning and Village Books are sponsoring the annual MLK Day Read-In that will take place on Monday, January 21 between 12:30 and 2:30pm following community-wide MLK Day activities downtown.

Western student volunteers will celebrate Dr. King’s dream of equality and hope by engaging with children through literature, games and dialogue focused on civil rights topics. Community members are encouraged to bring children ages three to eight to Village Books (1200 Eleventh Street, Bellingham) any time during the event hours of 12:30am to 2:30pm. Parents are welcome to participate.
