Western’s Office of Sustainability, the Teaching-Learning Academy, and Western Libraries invite you to an interactive and stimulating “Lunch & Learn” session. Join Rick Osen, Western Libraries’ Assistant Dean for Administration and Planning, as well as members of the Libraries’ Sustainability Team, as they consider the topic: “Libraries: A Sustainable and Sustaining Resource.”

Osen has been continuously employed as a member of the library staff since 1979. During that time he has held managerial and administrative positions that have involved virtually every department in the Western Libraries at one time or another, including Interim Dean of Libraries, Assistant Dean for Administration & Planning, and Assistant Dean for Collections & Technology Services. Osen has served on many campus-wide committees over the years and has been active in the Orbis Cascade Alliance. In 2007 Osen received the Professional Service Organization (PSO) Excellence in Service Award. In 2012 he received the President’s Exceptional Effort Award. Osen is also a graduate from Huxley College of the Environment with a focus on Human Ecology.
“Lunch & Learn” is a sustainability conversation series led by Western's Office of Sustainability in collaboration with the Teaching-Learning Academy and Western Libraries Sustainability Team.
