Of Willow and Warcraft:

Greek Lyric Poetry in the 19th Century.

The focus will be on Modern Greek literature, particularly recent poets writing during the period of the Greek war for independence, the Victorian period.

While this poetry uses the familiar lyric format, content and focus are not as familiar, and include Greek and Turkish folklore and popular culture.

Featured poets include: Dionysios Solomos, Kostis Palamas, Alexandros Soutsos, Giorgos Zalokostas, and Demetrios Paparhegopoulos.
