  4. The Science (General) allocation purchases materials that support all the sciences and those aspects of science not supported by individual subject areas. The History of Science is an example of such a subject area. Also interdisciplinary programs such as the Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education (SMATE) program.

  10. The Science (General) collection contains mostly journals and books. There are some videos available, and more may be purchased when requested.

  12. Students and faculty researching topics in the general science areas benefit from inter-library loan and the Summit program.

  16. The Science (General) collection has many books on the history of science, biographies, papers, collected works. There are also materials on the lives and contributions of scientists. Significant purchases include AccessScience, Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and the Review of Scientific Instruments.

Select subjects that may be covered by the Science (General) collection are those not always in departmental curriculum, but still of interest to students and faculty, including Agriculture, Forestry, Technology, etc. The Science (General) collection has many primary (original) works and secondary literature as well.
