The Best Places to Live in America  Produced by Money Magazine, compares 300 cities as to cost-of-living data, crime, job growth, weather, and other factors. Includes city maps.

Census Bureau   Includes links to demographic and economic statistics on population, housing, employment, economic performance & indicators, foreign trade, etc.  Search for state profiles, and  international statistics and links as well.

Chiefs of State and Cabinet Members of Foreign Governments  From the CIA, listings by country are updated weekly.

CIA World Factbook  This annual release is an excellent source for basic information about countries. Includes maps.

Country Studies/Area Handbook  sponsored by the  Department of the Army, this online series presently contains studies of 102 countries, describing and analyzing its political, economic, social, and national security systems and institutions.

The 50 States of the United States: Capital Cities and Information Links  Provides general geographic info (latitude and longitude), state facts such as birds,  flowers, mottos, nicknames, songs, colleges and universities, constitutions, genealogical resources, geological formations, geographical features,  national forests and  parks, newspapers,  non profit organizations, populations, state and federal representatives,  and the dates of entry into the union. All facts are linked to over 1529 governmental or authoritative WebPages.

Government Statistical Service UK in Figures  The UK's  equivalent to the Census Bureau, providing population and vital statistics information, as well as economic statistics.

Science
USGS- United States Geological Service Yearbooks  Search the Minerals Yearbook and the USGS Yearbook, which provides access to annual reports on environmental issues such as land use, watershed research, non-renewable resources, etc.

EarthTrends: The Environmental Information Portal  published by the World Resources Institute provides data tables, country profiles, maps, and a searchable database focusing on environmental, social, and economic world trends.

U.S. Naval Observatory Astronomical Applications Department  (NOAA) Compiles data on sun and moon rise and set times, recent and upcoming eclipses, star charts, etc.
 

Tide Charts
Tides Online  (NOAA) Tidal predictions available from more than 3000 water level stations.

Washington State Tide Tables  Select the location you are interested in and view tide tables in 2 week intervals.

Olympic Peninsula Tide Tables  View the current, previous or next months tide tables.
