I am currently a librarian for several departments and programs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Western Washington University. My professional background includes several years as a curator of the Archives and Manuscripts Section of the Arizona State Museum and several years as a librarian with the Chicago Public Library. My experience serving an ethnically diverse population in Chicago's neighborhoods and curating anthropological and archaeological collections at the Arizona State Museum led me to a course on Hopi language and culture and eventually to a Ph.D. in Comparative Cultural and Literary Studies at the University of Arizona.
