Freedom Forum - a nonpartisan foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. The foundation focuses on three main priorities: the Newseum, First Amendment freedoms and newsroom diversity
Freedom House - Among other things, this organization of DC political and media "heavyweights" annually surveys press freedom across the globe. The 2001 report is available.
Behind the Home Front (sponsored by The Reporter's Committee for Freedom of the Press) - A daily chronicle of news in homeland security and military operations affecting newsgathering, access to information and the public's right to know.
International and National Online Newspapers via the Internet Public Library - the most comprehensive list I've found thus far, and coded for language.
International Newspaper Network (INN) - I.N.N.'s "regional print shop in cyberspace" helps more than 300 newspapers - dailies and weeklies - across the nation publish on the World Wide Web of the Internet. Clients include dailies owned by Donrey, American, Lee, Paxon and other groups.

Project Censored - Project Censored, an annual nationwide media research project, was created in 1976 by Dr. Carl Jensen, Professor of Communications Studies, for a seminar in mass media at Sonoma State University. The primary objective of Project Censored is to explore and publicize the extent of censorship in our society by locating stories about significant issues of which the public should be aware, but is not, for one reason or another.
