Library 201: Introduction to Research Strategies
(2 credits)
Intended for sophomores and transfer students or above. Introduces
students to the nature of research with emphasis on strategies for
carrying out inquiry, locating electronic and print sources,
assessing sources for authority and selecting and incorporating
material from sources into writing.

LIBR403: Research Tutorial: Library Strategies for Communication Sciences &
Disorders (1 credit)
Prerequisite: Junior/Senior status
in Communication Sciences & Disorders, or permission from
instructor. Examines library resources, research processes, and
scholarly discourse for upper-division students in Communication
Sciences and Disorders.
An upper-division library course intended to support advanced
research methodologies for students in a particular major. Not
repeatable. S/U grading. Equivalent to LIBR 402. Cannot take both
LIBR 402 and 403 for credit.
CSD589: Research for Communication Sciences &
Disorders (1 credit)
Instruction in finding, examining scholarly database information.
Ethical, social aspects of information, organization and techniques
of research process. Use of Internet sources in obtaining and
evaluating medical information. S/U grading.
Children's Literature Interdisciplinary Collection, CLIC
CLIC
Children and young adult books spark the imagination, provide
insight into cultural values, inspire artistic design and explore
the literatures of prose, poetry and wordplay. The children and
young adult literature collections in the Western Libraries are rich
