North American & British Press - overview resources for newspaper history & media coverage

These resources provide an overview of the North American & British Press (as it relates to North America).  Some resources are general in approach, others have a particular focus, i.e. cover a specific time period or particular group. Some index specific newspapers, others identify general dates particular events were discussed in the press, and provide comparative analysis of content & coverage of several newspapers.
